Spectrum offer WorkCover Approved Psychologists

Am I eligible for WorkCover?

If your psychological injury is the result of a workplace incident (including whilst commuting to/from work), please see your GP for a WorkCover referral. If your GP determines that you do have a psychological difficulty as a result of a work-related incident, you will be issued with a WorkCover medical certificate. If the GP also decides that you would benefit from seeing a psychologist, you will be given a referral to a psychologist of your choice.

In order to initiate your WorkCover claim you will need to submit your Workcover certificate to your employer. Your employer will submit your Workers Compensation medical certificate to the company’s insurer. When the insurer has initiated the claim they will contact you with your claim number. You will need this claim number, the Workers Compensation Medical certificate and a doctor’s referral before you can make your appointment with a psychologist. There are legal time frames within which each party needs to provide information.

What will it cost?

If you are approved by WorkCover, you will be able to see a psychologist at Spectrum with no out-of-pocket costs.  Your psychologist can provide you with consultations, case conferences and pre-approved resources under this funding.
