ATAPS Program

Spectrum Health is proud t be partnered with Medicare Local to provide psychological programs for the Central Coast region and surrounds. Read more abut the different programs offered below.

Access to Allied Psychological Services – Better Outcomes in Mental Health ( ATAPS – BOMH )

The ATAPS service provides treatment for people experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and other non-psychotic mental health problems.  The service is in place to provide for people who may be experiencing financial disadvantage, are between the ages of 12-24 or Individuals who been affected by forced adoption.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander ( ATSI ) Mental Health Service ( Tier 2 )

This service provides treatment for people experiencing low moderate, high prevalence mental health issues. This stream of funding applies to young people (above 11yrs,) and adults who identify as aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Perinatal Depression Initiative

The Perinatal Depression Initiative (PDI) provides services to women or men suffering  from peri-natal depression.

Child Mental Health Service

This program provides services to children up to 11 years of age, who have or are at risk of developing a mild to moderate mental, childhood behavioural or emotional disorder and their families.

Accessing the services

To access these services you will need to see you GP to obtain a referral and Mental Health Treatment plan (MHTP). Medicare local will then advise the allocated Allied health Professional AHP who will contact you within one week to organise your first appointment.

Fees

These services are fully funded and are provided free of charge to the consumer.
